EPOS

EPOS (Electronic Point Of Sale) is what the servers at your venue will predominantly use to take orders and receive payment. The below settings will help you tailor the Dines EPOS system to your liking.

EPOS Settings;

  • Cash Payments: Toggles whether or not you will be taking cash payments via EPOS. If you are only planning on taking card payments, you can leave this deactivated.
  • Auto Apply Service Charge: This toggles whether you want service charges to be automatically added to all of your orders. The percentage of charge can be altered below.
  • Service Charge: In the “Service Percentage” field, you can choose the percentage of service charge that you wish to add to each order. The “Service Charge” dropdown lets you choose whether the charge will be mandatory for customers, or whether it is up to their discretion.

Tables / Locations;

Using Tables and Locations allows you to set up your venue for table service, cover tracking and more. In the Categories section, you can split your venue up into different areas, eg; dining room, upstairs or beer garden. To do this, tap on the green “New” button to the right, which will let you name an area and set the position it appears on your Category list. The lower the number, the earlier the category will show, from left to right.

Categories also offer you the flexibility to tailor your printing preferences. You can customise what gets printed and which printers are used by clicking “Edit” next to any Category you select.

To create individual tables, you can use Name, Category, and Position at the top. The Name can be “Table 1,” “Table 2” et cetera, the Category will be whatever area within your venue that you want to put the table, and Position is the same as mentioned above; it determines the order in which the table appears, from left to right.

Special Requests;

Here, you can establish default Special Requests which are frequently encountered. This feature links to the Order Note functionality on EPOS, which spares your servers the need to repeatedly input the same request, streamlining the ordering process.
